ALFA PASTRY – Protopita from Kozani
Years ago, in Kozani, on New Year's Eve, neighborhoods are flooded with the home-made aromas of freshly baked Νew Year’s cake that housewives used to bake to bless their home. Ιt is not the smell of an ordinary New Year’s pie though. Protopita from Kozani is made with traditional Greek cheeses & trahana, with 12 phyllo pastries (dough) one for each month of the new year, to make the family happy & lucky all year long.
