PLAISIO - Gaming nation event
Intro
eSports and gaming are on the rise among millennials in Greece. We designed and planned plaisio’s entrance into gaming through a national Counterstrike online competition and a festival dedicated in gaming that took place in Athens during the summer of 2017.
Challenge
Gamers and millennials are a very difficult target audience to reach through traditional media. However, for technology and retail companies such as Plaisio they are an extremely important audience as they are future customers and key opinion leaders. The challenge was to create a platform that would be engaging and long lasting within the eSports territory.
Solution
We created a gaming platform for Plaisio, under the name Plaisio Gaming Nation. To reach all gamers across Greece, the first national 1v1 Counterstrike tournament “Plaisio CS:GO Master Cup” was organized and lasted 3 full weeks. The final 128 players were invited to compete in Athens at the Gazi Music Hall in July during a day dedicated in gaming.
The venue of Gazi Music Hall was transformed into a paradise for gamers. The stage hosted the finals of the CS:GO Masters Cup while live tournaments of FIFA 17 and Hearthstone were conducted on the day for all visitors. The Greek champions of League of Legends, 15 VIP streamers and YouTubers, Cosplay costumes, Live interviews and the Plaisio Future Zone offered entertainment for more than 12 hours of gaming. The event was also live streamed presenting game streaming, footage of the venue and a special interview room with all our VIP influencers.
Outcome
The CS:GO Masters Cup had more than 3,000 online participations with 12,000 hours of gaminh in Plaisio branded maps. More than 1,5000 visitors attended the Plasio Gaming Nation and the event was celebrated by the gaming community with more than 100,000 viewers during live streaming. Finally, the content that was created for Plaisio by the VIP streamers, YouTubers and players reached more than 800,000 people. Plaisio is renewing their appointment with the gaming community with the first Plaisio League of Legends All Star Game soon.
